The premiere government contracting event of the year for small, minority, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses is right around the corner. This conference provides a great forum for government agencies, corporations and small businesses to discuss potential business relationships. Participants at Government Procurement Connections will have the opportunity to meet with more than 200 City, County, State and Federal representatives involved in purchasing, construction, and professional services contracting. This year’s event will also include METRO.
Representatives from banks and other organizations committed to assisting Small and Minority, Women, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (S/MWDBE) firms will also be represented during the Contracting Fair. In addition, some governmental agencies and private sector firms will award contracts “on the spot.”
“As a small business owner I can say that without GPC we would not be a major supplier to the City of Houston,” says Ron McFarlane, 2009 Chairman of the conference and President of eBusiness1. “I can literally connect the dots from a GPC IT Forum in 2006 to now having contracts with 5 major departments in the City.” McFarlane has been participating in the GPC for seven years. His company provides IT Monitoring Solutions for large scale environments that need to better manage their servers, network and applications.
The Houston Airport System is a proud sponsor the conference which takes place on Wednesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 23, at the George R. Brown Convention Center. |
