Hobby Fest to celebrate aviation fun for all ages
The festival will celebrate the airport and community’s strong relationship

On Saturday, April 18, you're invited to Hobby Airport to enjoy Hobby Fest as hundreds of aviation enthusiasts gather at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum at 8325 Travelair from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We invite our friends and family of the community to join us as we celebrate Hobby Airport,” says Mary Case Hobby Airport manager. “The connection between the airport and surrounding community is so strong and we feel very lucky.”

This daylong event in mid-April is a joint effort between The 1940 Air Terminal Museum, Greater Hobby Area Chamber of Commerce, Gulfway Hobby Airport Rotary Club, Flight Safety International, Million Air and the Houston Airport System.

The event festivities include:

- Aircraft displays
      o Lockheed Lodestar
      o C-47 "Spooky"  
      o S-58 Helicopter
      o Cessna Bobcat
      o WWII B-17 Bomber
      o DC-6 Nose - Vintage car display
- Face painting
- Clowns
- Zoomobile critter vehicle
- Aviation Authors - AJ High, Celeste Graves and Kathryn Morrow
- Raffles, giveaways, door prizes

An adult ticket cost $5 and a child’s ticket costs $2 for ages 12 and under.

The admission includes food, drinks, complimentary parking and entrance to see the 1940 Air Terminal Museum.

The festival, aimed at the celebration of the strong ties between William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) and the community, will have plenty of fun and excitement for all ages.
