JetBlue Airways starts service at Houston’s Hobby Airport

Today, JetBlue Airways started serving Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). The low-cost airline is using 156-seat A320 aircraft to fly three daily nonstop flights between HOU and New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport. City Council Member Carol Alvarado represented the City of Houston at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and welcomed the new airline on behalf of all Houstonians.

“JetBlue Airways is a perfect fit for Hobby Airport,” said Rick Vacar, director of the Houston Airport System. “Their service to JFK adds an important new link to the New York market and beyond, and enhances Hobby Airport’s market position as a low-cost carrier hub.”

"We are very pleased to welcome JetBlue Airways to Houston," said Houston Mayor Bill White. "They will enjoy Houston's great business climate and be a successful addition to our growing air transportation network."

“The beginning of Houston service marks JetBlue’s continued expansion into short and medium-haul markets, offering more low-fare options to Houstonians. JetBlue’s schedule to Houston has three daily departures from HOU at 7:00 a.m., 11:50 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The arrivals are at 11:00 a.m., 4:10 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
