JetBlue Airways arrives in Houston
JetBlue received a warm Texas welcome this month at William P. Hobby Airport in celebration of their new non-stop service between Houston Hobby and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The celebration began as the first JetBlue plane arrived to Gate 55 with a traditional water arch display from the Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter Station 81 at Hobby.  Read Story

China Airlines announces new freighter service to Houston
China Airlines will inaugurate scheduled all-cargo service from George Bush Intercontinental Airport on September 30. The new Taipei-Houston Boeing 747-400F freighter service will fly twice a week and makes the airline the only Asian air carrier currently offering scheduled passenger and cargo service to Houston.  Read Story  

Houston’s “Air-Scapade” is Back at Ellington Field 
Make plans to attend the 22nd Annual Commemorative Air Force Wings Over Houston Airshow this coming October 21-22, 2006 when the Air Force's Thunderbirds take over the skies at Ellington Field. This year's array of talent features an impressive parade of modern civilian aerobatic and state-of-the-art military hardware. Read Story 

Houston’s international market share increasing
Both international passenger and air cargo traffic continued to increase at the Houston Airport System through the month of July 2006. For the first seven months of the year, the airport system registered respective increases of 7.5 percent and 13.7 percent in international passenger traffic and air cargo movements, in comparison to the same timeframe in 2005. Accounting for this significant growth were increases in passenger and cargo traffic to most international destinations served from Bush Intercontinental Airport.  Read Story 

The Houston Airport System opens the door to new business
Each year the Houston Airport System generates countless business opportunities for local entrepreneurs. This year, the airport system's Small Business Development and Contract Compliance Division is searching for more local entrepreneurs to take advantage of the many business opportunities available at Houston’s airports. On Friday, September 15, 2006, local businesses are invited to participate in the first annual HAS Business Opportunity Networking Fair. This free event will provide seminars and one-on-one sessions that will be held throughout the day. Read Story
