Keeping children happy on flights is not an easy task, but there is some relief at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) for parents, their children, fellow passengers and even the flight crew.

KidZoo, a concept introduced by The Paradies Shops, is a children’s store featuring a zoo theme that began in 2002.

The location at IAH just opened and is already a big hit.

“We’re always looking to enhance our passengers’ experience with our selection of restaurants and retail options,” says Randy Goodman, Houston Airport System (HAS) airport business development coordinator. “KidZoo is a perfect example of how we strive to target every single passenger that travels through our airports.”

Although it is a children’s store, the bright colors entice travelers into the store where they can find merchandise for all ages such as licensed characters such as Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Disney and much more.

Passengers will be able to find gifts with a little Houston flare including western wear, toys and cowboy boot slippers for the little ones.

Local sports teams like Texas Longhorns merchandise, NASA products, DVDs, books and activities are also ready to go.

There’s even an area where children can sit and enjoy the latest craze in children’s programming.

The Paradies Shops which operates over 450 specialty shops in over 70 airports and hotels all over the United States and Canada, has held the title of “Best Airport Retailer” for 13 years in a row.

“We’re happy to add KidZoo to our list of retail stores at Bush Intercontinental,” says Vicki Johnson, Houston general manager for The Paradies Shops. “It’s such a wonderful store and not only do the children enjoy it, but the adults appreciate it too.”

Next time you’re traveling with children through IAH, stop by KidZoo and let them blow off some steam at the store and maybe even stock up on activities to keep them occupied during the flight.
